Limewash gives a wall the soft, cloudy movement of old plaster. It is forgiving, breathable and one of the easiest ways to add character in a weekend.
Work in loose crosses
Apply the first coat with a large block brush in overlapping X strokes, then add a second, lighter coat once dry. The variation is the point, so resist the urge to even it out.

- Choose one piece you love and build around it.
- Repeat a colour at least three times across the room.
- Add slowly — live with a change for a week before the next.
